Coach — user manual

Coaches focus on three things: knowing when and where you teach, marking attendance, and recording progress. The overviews below use the same step-by-step style as the admin manual.

Typical teaching day (overview)

Work through these three steps in order. Numbers match the tiles below (same idea as the admin manual).

Coach workflow

1 Start here

Dashboard or My sessions

See what you teach today. My sessions lists every lesson; My classes groups by group.

2 Open the lesson

Pick the session row

From My classes → Sessions, or straight from My sessions.

3 Finish the lesson

Attendance, then notes

Mark the roster, save, then add progress notes if needed.

1. Dashboard

  1. Open Dashboard for KPI-style cards and quick links to classes, sessions, and students.
  2. Keep the sidebar open on a tablet at poolside for fewer taps.

If shortcuts are empty, an admin must assign you to classes under Admin → Coaches.

2. My classes & my sessions

You can reach the same lesson list two ways — both end on one session row.

Where to tap

Path A — from My classes

  1. My classes
  2. Choose a class
  3. Sessions
  4. Tap one date/time

Path B — from My sessions

  1. My sessions
  2. Find the lesson in the list
  3. Open that row

Both paths open the same lesson so you can use Attendance.

  1. My classes
    • Shows only classes assigned to you.
    • Open a class, then Sessions, to see every lesson date and time for that group.
  2. My sessions
    • Flat list of all your lessons — fastest when you only care about "what's today".

3. Attendance

Attendance path

1 Open the session
2 Attendance
3 Mark each swimmer
4 Save
  1. From the session list, open the session that is about to start or just finished.
  2. Choose Attendance.
  3. Update every enrolled child: present, absent, or the status your school uses.
  4. Submit or save before navigating away so the roster stays accurate for reports.

Attendance drives historical reports — if unsure, align with the office before changing past sessions.

4. Students & progress notes

  1. My students
    • Search by name when parents ask about a child at the desk.
    • Open a student to reach Progress notes.
  2. Progress notes are often visible to parents — write facts, next goals, and safety reminders clearly.

Need a new swimmer on your roster? Ask an admin — enrollment and class placement are handled in the office after parents submit Enroll.

Quick troubleshooting

Empty class list
Ask an admin to assign your user to the swim class (Admin → Coaches).
Cannot find a session
Confirm the date; admins may still be building the schedule.
Wrong students on attendance
The roster comes from enrolled swimmers for that class. Ask an admin to confirm enrollment and class assignment, or use Admin → Counter if someone joins at the desk.
